Let me just sort this for a sec- for about a hundred years big tobacco lobbied it’s way to power, even after being exposed in writings and documentaries. They knowingly put arsenic and other poisons IN the tobacco- for no reason, and under the eye of the FDA.
But the problem here, is the teenagers starting to smoke more again. Maybe, they’re being influenced by the growing number of young adults still living at home? Maybe, they decided that if some one else won’t respect their bodies, why should they?
Adding another tax was cited as a possible resolution to the problem. How does that stop teenagers, who cannot buy cigs, from smoking?
The whole debate is ridiculous.
If you really cared, you would demand the companies follow a strict adherence to laws concerning cigarette content.
